About Hove
Hove is a seaside resort. It is one of the two main parts of the city of Brighton and Hove, in East Sussex, England.
Originally a “small but ancient fishing village” surrounded by contact farmland, it grew sharply in the 19th century in recognition to the money stirring front of its eastern neighbour Brighton; by the Victorian time it was a adequately developed town following borough status. Neighbouring parishes such as Aldrington and Hangleton were annexed in the late 19th and in the future 20th centuries. The neighbouring urban district of Portslade was merged following Hove in 1974. In 1997, as allowance of local dispensation reform, the borough merged subsequently Brighton to form the Borough of Brighton and Hove; this unitary authority was decided city status in 2000.
